My great grandmother was Adelina Ortega. She was affectionately known as “Ina” by my dad and his brothers.
Her parents were Jose de los Reyes Ortega and Juliana Molina. She was born 2 August, 1899 in Los Pueblitos, Valencia, New Mexico Territory. Los Pueblitos was a village very close to Belen. She was baptized at one day old on the 3 August 1899, at Nuestra Senora de Belen in Valencia, New Mexico. Below is the entry for her baptism from the church register.
She married Federico Garcia Rael at the age of 15. He was a widower with children and my Grandma remembers her mother-in-law, Ina, joking with her that she was growing up with them. Adelina & Federico had 5 children together, as far as I have been able to figure out. She had another child after Federico passed away, who is my grandfather. My dad has some great memories of Ina. My grandma has a few photographs of her that I hope to be able to scan one day.
Here is her civil marriage record. I have not been able to find a church record for them. They were married 9 September 1914 at Quemado, New Mexico. She was a minor, so her father had to give consent for her to marry.
